FUCM – New Music: Misplaced Memories Pop-Punk Anthem Drops

New music everyone! So stoked to drop FUCM! We’re Misplaced Memories, a West Michigan pop-punk trio. We’ve got Braden Mailand slinging guitar, Adam Fliehman smashing drums, and Josh Hall laying down bass. Since we crashed onto the scene in July 2024, we’ve been channeling the raw, reckless spirit of our youth into anthems that hit like a skate deck to the shins. Our new single is no exception. This is us at our most pissed-off and liberated, a sonic Molotov cocktail born from the ashes of old betrayals. With our debut EP already on Spotify and a 17-track album locked for later in 2025, this track’s another shot fired in our mission to keep pop-punk’s heart beating loud.

This song’s us ripping the Band-Aid off wounds we carried way too long. “All the tricks and games they play / No black and white it’s always gray”. That’s the bullshit we swam through in our teens and 20s, caught in webs of lies that left us dizzy. “A lifetime to forget you / For all the shit you put me through” isn’t just a lyric; it’s us clawing back from a heart smashed “black and blue,” refusing to let the past write our story. The chorus is where we let it all loose. “Tonight I’m dancing with the devil / And drinking with my ghost / Fuck what they call forever.” It’s a giant middle finger to fake promises and the isolation that had us on our knees. “Just wanna feel my heartbeat / I wanna freely breathe.” That’s the core of it, our desperate need to feel alive again, no chains, no regrets.

Musically, it’s a time warp to 2002’s Warped Tour—gnashing guitars, drums that punch through your chest, and hooks that stick like gum on your Chucks. Think Green Day’s snarl mixed with New Found Glory’s bounce. But this is ours, forged in the sweaty sets of our youth in the Lansing scene. Compared to our other tracks, it’s got the same emotional gut-punch as “See You,” where we lift up a scarred heart with “Your heart’s not broke, it’s full of scars.” This one though, is angrier, less about healing and more about burning the house down. Unlike “Ocean Floor”’s drowning love—“We fell in love at the bottom of the ocean floor”—this one’s about swimming to the surface. It’s got the urgency of “One More Time”’s “Run run run run as fast as you can,” but instead of chasing, we’re breaking free. “Underwater” begged for a kiss to breathe; here, we’re breathing on our own. And while “Better Man” promised “Starting today I’m going to be a better man,” this track’s us saying we’re enough as we are—flaws, fury, and all. And if you don’t know “Ocean Floor”, “One More Time”, “Underwater”, and “Better Man”, come to a show. They haven’t been released… yet.

Braden’s lyrics cut deeper than ever, his guitar screaming every ounce of that pain and defiance. Adam’s behind the kit like a thunderstorm, driving the tempo like he’s outrunning his own ghosts. Josh locks it down with basslines that rumble like the pulse we’re chasing. Together, we’ve poured everything into this—every late-night fight with our past, every moment we chose to keep going. It’s not just a song; it’s our rebellion, our release, our reminder that we’re still here, still loud, still us.

So crank it to eleven, scream it in your car, throw it on repeat until your neighbors hate you. Here on Spotify and Apple Music to stream it, share it, live it. We’re Misplaced Memories, and this is our war cry—join us in the pit.
